Juan-Juan Niu, Xu-Chang Zheng, Hong-Hao Ma

TL;DR
This paper investigates the production of doubly heavy quarkonium via top-quark decays within NRQCD, providing decay width calculations and implications for LHC experiments.
Contribution
It introduces a new decay channel analysis for doubly heavy quarkonium production via top decays, with detailed theoretical predictions and uncertainty analysis.
Findings
Decay widths for B_c, B_c*, eta_c, J/psi are quantified.
Predicted event rates at LHC are between 10^3 and 10^6 per year.
Dominant contributions to charmonium production come from this decay channel.
Abstract
In this paper, we analyze the decay channel for the production of doubly heavy quarkonium, or , via top-quark decays, and , within the framework of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD). The dominant contributions are considered in color-singlet S-wave states, i.e., , , , and . Our calculations show that the decay widths for , , and production are 0.2251, 0.3099, 0.0537 and 0.0555 MeV, respectively, resulting in level of events and level of charmonium produced at LHC per year. In particular, we find that the dominant contribution to and production via…
