TL;DR
This paper measures the production rates of various charmonium states in b-hadron decays using LHCb data, providing new branching fraction measurements and the most precise eta_c(1S) mass to date.
Contribution
It reports the first measurements of branching fractions for several charmonium states in b-hadron decays and the most precise eta_c(1S) mass measurement.
Findings
Branching fractions for chi_c0, chi_c1, chi_c2 in b decays measured.
Production rate of eta_c(2S) times its decay into phi phi quantified.
Eta_c(1S) mass measured with highest precision to date.
Abstract
The inclusive production of the , and charmonium states in -hadron decays is studied with LHCb Run~2 data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of , using charmonia decays to pairs. The production branching fractions of the states in -hadron decays are measured, using as a normalisation channel, with indicating any additional particles. The results are \begin{align*} &{\cal{B}} (b \to \chi_{c0} X) = (1.34 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.06 \pm 0.37) \times 10^{-3}, &{\cal{B}} (b \to \chi_{c1} X) = (1.58 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.09 \pm 0.44) \times 10^{-3}, &{\cal{B}} (b \to \chi_{c2} X) = (0.55 \pm 0.08 \pm 0.05 \pm 0.15) \times 10^{-3}, \end{align*} where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the last is due to the limited knowledge of externally…
