TL;DR
This study identifies a broad p-wave resonant state in helium-9 through invariant-mass spectroscopy, providing insights into its structure and resonance properties.
Contribution
First observation of a broad p-wave resonance in helium-9 using invariant-mass spectroscopy from lithium-11 knockout reactions.
Findings
Resonant state at 1.28 MeV with a width of 0.82 MeV
Observation of a broad p-wave resonance in helium-9
Enhanced understanding of helium-9 nuclear structure
Abstract
We report on the two-body invariant-mass spectroscopy of He, populated via the 11 knockout reaction from the two-neutron halo nucleus Li at 250 MeV/nucleon. A broad -wave resonant state of He was observed at 1.28(1) MeV with a width of 0.82(4) MeV.
