High Intensity for Accelerator Driven Systems (ADS)
Ulrich Dorda

TL;DR
This paper discusses the design and operational considerations of accelerators for Accelerator Driven Systems, exemplified by the MYRRHA project, highlighting key technological challenges and requirements.
Contribution
It provides an in-depth analysis of accelerator design, beam dynamics, and technology choices specific to ADS applications, using MYRRHA as a case study.
Findings
Derived accelerator requirements for ADS applications
Design considerations for MYRRHA's accelerator system
Identification of main technological challenges
Abstract
Following the motivation for an Accelerator Driven System (ADS), the requirements on the accelerator are derived. Using the MYRRHA project as example, the beam optics/dynamics design and operational concept of such an accelerator are discussed and the main technology choices and challenges are presented.
