Antonio De Felice, Takehiro Ogura, Shinji Tsujikawa, Kimiko Yamashita

TL;DR
This paper investigates a Higgs-portal dark matter model with a dark photon, focusing on freeze-in production mechanisms and the impact of Stueckelberg and higher-dimensional operators on relic density.
Contribution
It introduces a novel dark matter scenario with a Z2-odd dark photon and analyzes the effects of Stueckelberg and Higgs-portal operators on dark matter production.
Findings
Stueckelberg contributions are subdominant when gauge-invariant operators are order unity.
Smaller Wilson coefficients allow Stueckelberg operators to significantly influence dark matter relic density.
A wide parameter space exists consistent with observed dark matter abundance.
Abstract
We study dark photon dark matter associated with a dark gauge symmetry. To evade laboratory and cosmological constraints on kinetic mixing with the Standard Model , we assign a -odd dark parity to that forbids such mixing. The leading interactions then arise from gauge-invariant dimension-6 Higgs-portal operators, including both parity-even and parity-odd terms. We assume that the dark matter mass is generated via the Stueckelberg mechanism, which also induces a dimension-4 Higgs-portal operator and additional dimension-6 operators. We investigate freeze-in production of from Higgs-pair annihilations after reheating, incorporating both gauge-invariant and Stueckelberg-induced operators. First, we consider the case in which the Wilson coefficients of the gauge-invariant dimension-6 operators, and , are of order…
