TL;DR
This study reports the synthesis and detailed magnetic and structural analysis of a novel CrFe2Ge2 compound with a ferromagnetic transition at 200 K, revealing unique critical behavior and itinerant ferromagnetism.
Contribution
The paper introduces a new intermetallic compound CrFe2Ge2 with a specific crystal structure and characterizes its magnetic critical behavior and electronic properties.
Findings
CrFe2Ge2 exhibits a ferromagnetic transition at ~200 K.
Critical exponents suggest 3D, 3-component ferromagnetic behavior.
The material shows itinerant ferromagnetism with long-range magnetic coupling.
Abstract
We successfully synthesized a novel intermetallic compound with the -type crystal structure. A structural study is presented combining single-crystal X-ray diffraction and M\"{o}ssbauer spectroscopy analysis, confirming the presence of two distinct Fe sublattices. exhibits a metallic ferromagnetic state with . This material does not follow the usual Arrott law, rather a modified Arrott law is obeyed in this material. The critical exponents determined from detailed analysis of modified Arrott plots were found to be , and obtained from the critical isotherm at . Self-consistency and reliability of the critical exponent analysis were verified by the Widom scaling law and scaling equations. Using the results from renormalization…
