The Potency of Nilpotence
Eric Bryan, Arvind Rajaraman, Yuri Shirman

TL;DR
This paper investigates dualities in $ ext{N}=1$ SUSY gauge theories with ADE superpotentials, confirming dualities for $A_k$ models but disproving them for $D_{k+2}$ models through moduli space analysis.
Contribution
It provides new evidence supporting dualities in $A_k$ models and demonstrates the failure of such dualities in $D_{k+2}$ models by analyzing nilpotent directions.
Findings
Supports duality conjecture for $A_k$ models.
Disproves duality conjecture for $D_{k+2}$ models.
Analyzes moduli space along nilpotent directions.
Abstract
The dynamics of SUSY gauge theories with matter in adjoint and fundamental representations and the superpotentials given by Arnold's ADE singularities has been extensively studied in the literature. It was also conjectured that supersymmetric models with , and superpotentials possess a dual description. In this paper we revisit the analysis of the moduli space of and models by considering the duality along nilpotent directions on the moduli space. While our analysis provides additional evidence for the duality conjecture in models, we show that the duality conjecture fails for the models.
