Carolina Bolognani, Ulrich Nierste, Stefan Schacht, K. Keri Vos

TL;DR
This paper predicts CP asymmetries in certain D meson decays involving $ta'$ within the Standard Model using SU(3)$_F$ symmetry, providing correlations between decay modes to guide future experimental tests.
Contribution
It introduces a systematic SU(3)$_F$ symmetry-based approach to predict CP asymmetries in D decays with $ta'$, including symmetry-breaking effects and decay mode correlations.
Findings
Predicted CP asymmetries for specific D decay modes.
Established correlations between different decay channels.
Provided a framework for future experimental tests of the Standard Model.
Abstract
We derive Standard Model predictions for the CP asymmetries of singly-Cabibbo suppressed decays, where . Our predictions are based on the approximate SU(3) symmetry of QCD and include first-order symmetry-breaking effects in a systematic way. The underlying symmetry leads to correlations between different decay modes. To this end we predict the correlations between and as well as and . Our results can be used to probe the Standard Model with future measurements by LHCb, Belle II and BESIII. At the same time, such future measurements permit the extraction of the key theory parameter related to the ratio of color-suppressed to color-favoured contributions to the decay amplitudes.…
