Tomas Truhlar (for the STAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper presents the first measurement of Central Exclusive Production of pion, kaon, and proton pairs in proton-proton collisions at 510 GeV, providing insights into I$ ext{Pomeron}$ interactions and resonance structures.
Contribution
It introduces the first experimental study of CEP of hadron pairs at RHIC energy, analyzing differential cross sections and resonance contributions with the STAR detector.
Findings
Consistent with double I$ ext{Pomeron}$ exchange mechanisms.
First observation of $f_0(980)$ resonance in $K^+K^-$ decay channel.
Measured invariant mass spectra up to 3 GeV.
Abstract
We report on the first measurement of the Central Exclusive Production (CEP) process in proton-proton (pp) collisions:, (where ) at the center-of-mass energy GeV with the STAR experiment at RHIC. At this energy, the process is dominated by a double IPomeron exchange mechanism. Hence, it provides a clean environment for investigating IPomeron interactions by measuring fully reconstructed final states involving only two hadrons and two forward scattered protons. The oppositely charged hadron pairs are measured within the central detector of STAR. The forward scattered protons are measured in the Roman Pot system allowing the verification of the event's exclusivity. Differential fiducial cross sections within the STAR acceptance are presented as a function of the difference in the azimuthal angle between the outgoing…
