Chowdhury Aminul Islam, Mahammad Sabir Ali, Rishi Sharma

TL;DR
This paper explores how the pion mass influences the QCD phase diagram in the temperature-magnetic field plane, using an effective model to identify conditions where inverse magnetic catalysis ceases.
Contribution
It introduces a study of pion mass effects on the QCD phase diagram and estimates the pion mass threshold for the disappearance of inverse magnetic catalysis.
Findings
Pion mass significantly affects the QCD phase diagram.
The inverse magnetic catalysis effect disappears beyond a certain pion mass.
The pion mass threshold for IMC is independent of magnetic field strength.
Abstract
We investigated the role of the pion mass on the QCD phase diagram in the plane using an effective model treatment. Such treatments are able to capture the main features predicted by first-principles calculations. We also employed the model to estimate the pion mass beyond which the inverse magnetic catalysis (IMC) effect disappears. The value is found to be independent of the strength of the magnetic field.
