TL;DR
This paper reports the first observation of CP violation in B+ decays to rho and K* mesons, with detailed measurements of polarization and asymmetry using LHCb data, advancing understanding of B meson decay dynamics.
Contribution
It presents the first observation of CP violation in B+ to rho(770)0 K*(892)+ decays and measures polarization fractions and asymmetries with high significance.
Findings
CP violation observed with >9 sigma significance.
Measured CP asymmetry: 0.507 ± 0.062 (stat) ± 0.024 (syst).
Longitudinal polarization fraction: 0.720 ± 0.028 (stat) ± 0.009 (syst).
Abstract
An amplitude analysis of the decay is performed in the mass regions and , using collision data recorded with the LHCb detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of . The polarization fractions and asymmetries for decays are measured. Violation of the symmetry in the decay is observed for the first time, with a significance exceeding nine standard deviations. The asymmetry is measured to be and the -averaged longitudinal polarization fraction of . The measurements help to shed light on the…
