Variational free complement method with Gaussian complements
Cong Wang

TL;DR
This paper introduces a variational free complement method utilizing Gaussian complements to improve the accuracy of quantum state calculations, demonstrated on the helium ground state.
Contribution
It presents a novel approach to constructing complement functions using Gaussian expansions within the free complement method.
Findings
Accurate helium ground state energy calculation
Effective Gaussian complement construction
Potential applicability to other quantum systems
Abstract
The complement functions in the free complement (FC) method are constructed by decontracting the Gaussian expansions of the Slater functions formed by the initial wavefunction and the functions. The helium ground state is used to demonstrate the accuracy.
