TL;DR
This paper reports a search for the rare decay $B^0 ightarrow phi phi$ using LHCb data, setting a new upper limit on its branching fraction, which improves previous constraints by a factor of two.
Contribution
The study provides the most stringent upper limit to date on the branching fraction of $B^0 ightarrow phi phi$, using extensive collision data from the LHCb detector.
Findings
No significant signal observed.
Upper limit on branching fraction set at $1.3 imes 10^{-8}$ (90% CL).
Improved the previous upper limit by a factor of two.
Abstract
A search for the decay is made using collision data collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of fb. No significant signal is observed, and an upper limit on the branching fraction of at confidence level is set. This result supersedes the previous LHCb study and improves the upper limit by a factor of two.
