Abstract
We study the realization of , , in SYM - corresponding to charge conjugation, parity, and time-reversal - and identify the , , global symmetries of SYM with bulk (gauge) symmetries of string theory on . The dual bulk transformations are symmetries of Type IIB string theory on that combine string worldsheet symmetries, with geometric transformations acting on . We show that and map to and under -duality (combined with an R-symmetry outer automorphism), while and are invariant.
