TL;DR
This paper studies polarization observables in semileptonic decays of quarkonium states, providing theoretical predictions for asymmetries and polarization parameters using helicity amplitudes and form factors from a quark model.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive analysis of polarization observables in $V o P$ semileptonic decays of quarkonia using helicity amplitudes and form factors from the Covariant Confined Quark Model.
Findings
Predicted polarization observables for $J/\psi$ and $(1S)$ decays.
Derived angular decay distributions for general $V o P\, ext{lepton}ar{ u}$ decays.
Compared theoretical predictions with existing literature.
Abstract
We investigate the weak semileptonic decays of the charmonium and bottomonium into a pseudoscalar meson, namely, the and decays. We focus on the polarization observables including the forward-backward asymmetry, final lepton polarization, and lepton-side convexity parameter. In order to define these quantities, we apply the helicity amplitude method and obtain a twofold angular decay distribution for a general case. The hadronic form factors are taken from our previous work, where they were calculated in the Covariant Confined Quark Model. We provide theoretical predictions for the polarization observables and compare them with the literature.
