TL;DR
This paper investigates spherical D-branes in string theory on AdS3×S3×S3×S1 with NS flux, identifying them with branes in the dual symmetric orbifold of free fermions and bosons, and briefly discusses AdS2 branes.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of spherical D-branes in this specific AdS3 background and their correspondence with branes in the dual symmetric orbifold theory.
Findings
Identification of spherical D-branes with dual orbifold branes
Analysis of the brane configurations in the NS-flux background
Brief discussion on AdS2 branes in the same setup
Abstract
String theory on with two units of NS flux through each of the two -spheres (and one unit of NS flux supporting the factor) was recently argued to be exactly dual to the symmetric orbifold of eight free fermions and two bosons. This setup is interesting since it allows for a simple NS-R description. In this paper we study the spherical D-branes of this theory, and identify them with branes in the dual symmetric orbifold theory. We also comment briefly on the branes.
