TL;DR
The paper introduces a novel 'Pairs of Squares' visualization of the Periodic Table, leveraging the square number of orbitals at each energy level for a more uniform and intuitive layout.
Contribution
It proposes a new periodic table rendering based on the mathematical property of orbital counts being perfect squares, enhancing visual uniformity and intuitiveness.
Findings
The new rendering improves visual uniformity of the periodic table.
It leverages the mathematical property of orbital counts being perfect squares.
The presentation contrasts with traditional periodic table formats.
Abstract
I present a new "Pairs of Squares" rendering of the Periodic Table. It takes advantage of the number of orbitals at each Madelung energy level being a whole square. This makes the table very uniform and intuitive in contrast with its currently used presentations.
