Towards N$^3$LO PDFs and their implications for Higgs production cross-sections
Felix Hekhorn

TL;DR
This paper reviews new N$^3$LO parton distribution functions (PDFs) and examines their effects on Higgs production cross-sections at the LHC, highlighting advances in theoretical precision for collider predictions.
Contribution
It introduces combined N$^3$LO PDFs from MSHT20 and NNPDF4.0, and analyzes their impact on Higgs cross-section calculations at the LHC.
Findings
N$^3$LO PDFs significantly affect Higgs production cross-sections.
Inclusion of N$^3$LO splitting functions refines PDF accuracy.
Results improve theoretical predictions for collider experiments.
Abstract
We review the recently published PDF sets MSHT20xNNPDF40_an3lo and MSHT20xNNPDF40_an3lo_qed, which have been obtained by combining the approximate NLO (aNLO) sets of parton distributions (PDFs) from the MSHT20 and NNPDF4.0 series. We investigate the impact of the most recent results on NLO splitting functions onto the two PDF sets. Finally, we demonstrate the impact of NLO PDFs on the computation of Higgs production cross-sections at the LHC.
