TL;DR
This study measured the cross-section of the ${^{ m nat} m{Ni}}( ext{γ}, ext{p}x ext{n})^{58} m{Co}$ reaction at energies 35-94 MeV using gamma-activity methods and compared results with theoretical predictions from TALYS1.96.
Contribution
First experimental measurement of the total cross-section for the ${^{ m nat} m{Ni}}( ext{γ}, ext{p}x ext{n})^{58} m{Co}$ reaction over 35-94 MeV and comparison with theoretical models.
Findings
Measured cross-sections increase with energy.
Experimental results are consistent with TALYS predictions.
Data provides benchmarks for nuclear reaction models.
Abstract
The photoproduction of the nuclei on was studied using the induced -activity method and off-line -ray spectrometric technique. The experiment was performed at the electron linear accelerator LUE-40 NSC KIPT, Ukraine. The total flux-averaged cross-section for the reaction has been measured in the range of bremsstrahlung end-point energies = 35-94 MeV. The obtained were compared with theoretical estimates. The theoretical values of were calculated using the partial cross-sections from the TALYS1.96 code for different level density models and gamma strength functions.
