TL;DR
This study presents extensive 15.5 GHz radio observations of Cygnus X-3 in 2024, documenting five major outbursts with peaks reaching up to 16 Jy, providing valuable insights into its variable radio behavior.
Contribution
First comprehensive radio monitoring of Cygnus X-3 at 15.5 GHz over an entire year, capturing multiple outbursts and their peak fluxes.
Findings
Five major radio outbursts detected in 2024.
Peak flux reached approximately 16 Jy.
Outbursts occurred in February, April, June, July, and August.
Abstract
We report radio monitoring of Cygnus X-3 at 15.5 GHz during 2024 with the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager. Observations were made on 296 days throughout the year, and reveal five radio outbursts to multi-jansky levels, peaking in Feb, Apr, Jun, Jul and Aug. The brightest peak, with Jy, was on Jun 27th.
