Measurement of the strong-phase difference between $D^0$ and $\bar{D^0}\to K^+K^-\pi^+\pi^-$ in bins of phase space
BESIII Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper measures the strong-phase difference between D0 and anti-D0 decays to K+K-π+π- using BESIII data, providing crucial inputs for CP violation studies and improving the precision of the decay's branching fraction.
Contribution
It presents the first measurement of the strong-phase difference in specific phase space bins, enhancing the sensitivity to the CKM angle gamma in B decays.
Findings
Strong-phase difference measured in four phase space bins.
CP-even fraction of the decay determined as 0.754 ± 0.010 (stat) ± 0.008 (syst).
Branching fraction of D0 → K+K-π+π- measured with twice the previous precision.
Abstract
A first determination of the strong-phase difference between and is performed using data collected by the BESIII detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of fb. The measurements are made in four pairs of bins in phase space, which are chosen to provide optimal sensitivity to the angle of the Unitarity Triangle in decays. From these measurements, it follows that the -even fraction of the decay is . In addition, the branching fraction of is measured to be , which is twice as precise as previous results obtained at other experiments.
