TL;DR
This study reports the first observation of semimuonic decays of D mesons to K1(1270) and tests lepton flavor universality by comparing decay rates to electrons and muons, finding results consistent with theoretical predictions.
Contribution
First observation of D to K1(1270) muonic decays and a test of lepton flavor universality in these processes.
Findings
Branching fractions for D+ and D0 decays to K1(1270) muons measured.
Branching fraction ratios to electrons and muons are consistent with lepton flavor universality.
Decay width ratio between D+ and D0 decays aligns with isospin conservation predictions.
Abstract
By analyzing 7.93 of collision data collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider, we report the observation of the semimuonic decays of and with statistical significances of and , respectively. Their decay branching fractions are determined to be and , where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, and the third originates from the input branching fraction of or . Combining our branching…
