Martin Beneke, Yao Ji, Erik S\"underhauf, Xing Wang

TL;DR
This paper develops a renormalization approach for the soft function in the Drell-Yan process's qg channel at next-to-leading power, enabling improved theoretical predictions near the threshold.
Contribution
It introduces the renormalization of the soft function at next-to-leading power for the Drell-Yan qg channel and solves its renormalization-group equation.
Findings
Renormalized the soft function at NLP for Drell-Yan qg channel.
Derived the renormalization-group evolution of the soft function.
Facilitates more precise threshold resummation in Drell-Yan processes.
Abstract
We renormalize the soft function entering the factorization and resummation of the parton-scattering channel of the Drell-Yan process near the kinematic threshold at next-to-leading power in the expansion around , and solve its renormalization-group equation.
