TL;DR
This paper introduces a PTP-synchronized optical switching method with nanosecond precision, enabling rapid and scheduled network recovery, significantly improving resilience and recovery times in optical networks.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel PTP-synchronized optical switching technique achieving nanosecond switching with low jitter for fast network recovery.
Findings
Achieved 8.4ns optical switching with 100ns jitter.
Enabled instant network recovery within 2.7ms.
Demonstrated scheduled network recovery capabilities.
Abstract
This paper proposes and validates a PTP-synchronized 8.4ns optical switching with a 100ns jitter at the switching edges. This approach is adopted and demonstrated for instant network recovery within 2.7ms and scheduled network recovery.
