Jo\~ao Barata, Zhong-Bo Kang, Xo\'an Mayo L\'opez, Jani Penttala

TL;DR
This paper investigates the Energy-Energy Correlator in jet production during $pp$ and $pA$ collisions, introducing a non-perturbative model that matches experimental data and accounts for nuclear medium effects.
Contribution
It presents a novel non-perturbative model for the EEC applicable across all angular regions in jet production, including nuclear medium modifications for $pA$ collisions.
Findings
Excellent agreement with CMS and ALICE data for $pp$ collisions.
Predictions for $pA$ collisions match observed trends.
Model describes EEC across entire angular range.
Abstract
In this Letter, we study the collinear limit of the Energy-Energy Correlator (EEC) in single-inclusive jet production in proton-proton () and proton-nucleus () collisions. We introduce a non-perturbative model that allows us to describe the EEC in the entire angular region of the current experiments. Our results for collisions show excellent agreement with CMS and ALICE data over a wide range of jet transverse momenta. For collisions, we include modifications from the nuclear medium, and our predictions align well with the trends observed in recent ALICE measurements.
