TL;DR
This study explores how oxygen and water together influence the environmental reactivity of 2D layered GeAs, combining experimental spectroscopy and computational methods.
Contribution
It provides new insights into the combined effects of oxygen and water on GeAs reactivity using advanced spectroscopic and theoretical approaches.
Findings
Oxygen and water synergistically increase GeAs reactivity.
Identification of specific chemical states formed during environmental exposure.
Enhanced understanding of GeAs stability in ambient conditions.
Abstract
We investigated the reactivity of layered GeAs in the presence of oxygen and/or water using synchrotron-based X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and ab initio calculations.
