TL;DR
This theoretical study models the $ ext{Σ}^+ p o ext{Λ} a_0^+ p$ reaction using an effective Lagrangian approach, predicting cross sections and analyzing the role of the $ ext{Δ}(1940)$ resonance near threshold.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed theoretical framework for the reaction, highlighting the significance of the $ ext{Δ}(1940)$ resonance and providing predictions for experimental exploration.
Findings
$ ext{Δ}(1940)$ dominates near threshold
Predicted total and differential cross sections
Sensitivity to cutoff parameters and off-shell effects
Abstract
We conducted a theoretical study on the process based on an effective Lagrangian approach. This model encompasses the excitation of intermediate states leading to the production of through and meson exchanges between the initial baryon and the initial proton , as well as the generation of via and meson exchanges. We provide predictions for the total and differential cross sections and discuss the potential impacts of cutoff parameters, off-shell effects, and branching ratios on the decay. Given the dominance of in the region close to the reaction threshold, this reaction is considered an ideal platform for deeply exploring the unique properties of the resonance. Through this approach, we can gain a more precise…
