Obtaining the dynamic coefficient of friction from the application of Newton's laws
Mauricio L\'opez-Reyes

TL;DR
This paper presents a theoretical and experimental method to determine the dynamic coefficient of friction, explaining its relationship with the static coefficient and improving initial estimates through statistical analysis.
Contribution
It introduces a novel methodological approach combining theory and experiments to accurately obtain the dynamic friction coefficient and analyze its relation to the static coefficient.
Findings
The relationship between static and dynamic coefficients is confirmed.
Experimental design improves initial approximations.
Statistical parameters quantify the accuracy of the method.
Abstract
The friction force, friction coefficients and the effects on the dynamics of particles, bodies and systems, are fundamental themes in university physics of the first cycles and also in general physics courses of upper secondary education in Mexico, however Many facts on these subjects are given as a definition, for example; the dynamic coefficient of friction is less than the static one. In this work, a theoretical-experimental methodological proposal is exposed, to demonstrate why the relationship between the coefficients is like this, in addition some statistical parameters were used to quantify to what extent, the experimental design improved the initial approximations.
