A SUBSET-SUM Characterisation of the A-Hierarchy
Jan Gutleben, Arne Meier

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new characterization of the A-hierarchy, a concept in parameterized complexity, by relating it to a generalized version of the SUBSET-SUM problem, providing deeper theoretical insights.
Contribution
It offers a novel characterization of the A-hierarchy using a generalized SUBSET-SUM problem, advancing the theoretical understanding of parameterized complexity classes.
Findings
New characterization of the A-hierarchy
Connection between A-hierarchy and generalized SUBSET-SUM
Enhanced theoretical framework for parameterized complexity
Abstract
The A-hierarchy is a parametric analogue of the polynomial hierarchy in the context of paramterised complexity theory. We give a new characterisation of the A-hierarchy in terms of a generalisation of the SUBSET-SUM problem.
