TL;DR
This study measures using galaxy and CMB lensing data from DESI and Planck, revealing dust map choices significantly influence estimates and highlighting the tension with Planck results, emphasizing the need for advanced systematic modeling.
Contribution
It introduces a new measurement using a large ELG catalog and novel systematic corrections, including dust map impacts, in cross-correlation analyses.
Findings
Dust map choice significantly affects estimates.
values range from 0.702 to 0.719 depending on dust correction.
Results show a tension with Planck primary anisotropy at 3 sigma.
Abstract
Measuring the growth of structure is a powerful probe for studying the dark sector, especially in light of the tension between primary CMB anisotropy and low-redshift surveys. This paper provides a new measurement of the amplitude of the matter power spectrum, , using galaxy-galaxy and galaxy-CMB lensing power spectra of Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument Legacy Imaging Surveys Emission-Line Galaxies and the 2018 CMB lensing map. We create an ELG catalog composed of million galaxies and with a purity of , covering a redshift range , with . We implement several novel systematic corrections, such as jointly modeling the contribution of imaging systematics and photometric redshift uncertainties to the covariance matrix. We also study the impacts of various dust maps on cosmological parameter inference. We…
