Stefano Vignolo, Fabrizio Esposito, Sante Carloni

TL;DR
This paper investigates the conditions needed to smoothly join different solutions in f(Q)-gravity using distribution-valued tensors, providing a mathematical foundation for understanding junctions in this modified gravity theory.
Contribution
It derives the necessary and sufficient junction conditions for f(Q)-gravity, extending the mathematical framework for solution matching in this theory.
Findings
Derived the necessary and sufficient junction conditions for f(Q)-gravity.
Utilized distribution-valued tensors to analyze solution matching.
Provided a mathematical basis for future studies on spacetime junctions in f(Q)-gravity.
Abstract
Using the notion of distribution-valued tensor, we discuss the junction conditions within the framework of f(Q)-gravity. We obtain the necessary and sufficient conditions for two distinct solutions of the field equations to be smoothly joined on a given separation hypersurface.
