Nongnapat Ponkhuha, Ahmad Jafar Arifi, Daris Samart

TL;DR
This paper studies two-pion decay processes of negative parity heavy baryons, combining theoretical models with recent experimental data to support specific baryon state assignments and predict decay behaviors.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive analysis of two-pion decays including both sequential and direct processes, utilizing the chiral quark model and Dalitz plot convolution to match experimental observations.
Findings
Supports $oxed{ ext{Λ}_c(2625)^+}$ as $J^P=3/2^-$ state
Highlights the importance of the direct process in decay asymmetries
Provides predictions for $ ext{Ξ}_Q^*$ decay behaviors
Abstract
We investigate two-pion emission decays of singly charmed and bottom baryons, focusing on and with (charm) or (bottom) quarks and , belonging to antisymmetric flavor triplet . Our analysis encompasses both sequential processes, involving intermediate states belonging to symmetric flavor sextet such as and respectively with , derived from the chiral quark model, and direct process crucial for comparison with experimental data, whose coupling constants estimated using the chiral-partner scheme. We also incorporate the convolution of the parent particle's mass for the Dalitz plot, enabling a more realistic comparison with experimental data. We scrutinize the Dalitz plots of these negative parity states in light of recent Belle measurements…
