TL;DR
This paper constructs stable, non-supersymmetric heterotic string vacua with reduced gauge group rank in six and four dimensions using asymmetric orbifolds, avoiding tachyons and moduli deformations.
Contribution
It presents the first known examples of non-tachyonic, non-supersymmetric heterotic vacua with reduced rank that are rigid and free of deformation moduli.
Findings
Stable non-supersymmetric vacua with reduced rank constructed
No tachyons present in the models
Models are rigid with no deformation moduli
Abstract
We construct rigid non-supersymmetric heterotic vacua with reduced rank and no tachyons in six and four dimensions. These configurations are based on asymmetric orbifold compactifications which do not admit deformation moduli and represent, to the best of our knowledge, the first instances of non-tachyonic non-supersymmetric heterotic vacua with reduced rank.
