An Unreasonably Quick Introduction to String Theory, Conformal Field Theory and Geometry
Paul S. Aspinwall

TL;DR
This paper provides a rapid, accessible overview of string theory, conformal field theory, and geometry, aimed at newcomers without prior quantum field theory background, based on a series of lectures.
Contribution
It offers a concise, beginner-friendly introduction to complex topics in string theory and related fields, filling a gap for newcomers and educators.
Findings
Simplifies complex concepts for beginners
Connects string theory with geometry and conformal field theory
Serves as an educational resource for summer school students
Abstract
A very quick introduction to the bosonic string, conformal field theory, the superstring and geometry. No background in quantum field theory is assumed and the omissions are vast. Based on four lectures at the 2024 Physical Mathematics of Quantum Field Theory Summer School.
