Jerzy Paczos, Szymon Cedrowski, Krzysztof Turzy\'nski, Andrzej Dragan

TL;DR
This paper explores the behavior of Higgs-like fields interacting with gauge fields before symmetry breaking, revealing the emergence of particles with negative squared mass, which could impact understanding of early universe physics.
Contribution
It introduces a novel analysis of Higgs field interactions prior to symmetry breaking, highlighting the production of negative squared mass particles.
Findings
Negative squared mass particles are produced before symmetry breaking.
Interactions of Higgs fields with gauge fields differ before and after symmetry breaking.
Potential implications for early universe particle physics.
Abstract
We investigate the Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism of spontaneous symmetry breaking and show that, before symmetry breaking, the interaction of Higgs fields with massless gauge fields leads to the production of particles with negative squared mass.
