TL;DR
The paper details the design and construction of the CODEX-$eta$ demonstrator, a prototype for a future long-lived-particle detector at HL-LHC, aiming to validate concepts before full deployment.
Contribution
It presents the technical design and construction plan for the CODEX-$eta$ demonstrator, a novel prototype for future long-lived-particle detection at the HL-LHC.
Findings
Design specifications for the demonstrator are established.
Construction and installation procedures are outlined.
The project aims to collect data in 2025 for future validation.
Abstract
The CODEX- apparatus is a demonstrator for the proposed future CODEX-b experiment, a long-lived-particle detector foreseen for operation at IP8 during HL-LHC data-taking. The demonstrator project, intended to collect data in 2025, is described, with a particular focus on the design, construction, and installation of the new apparatus.
