Shunsuke Yasunaga, Daisuke Jido, Takatsugu Ishikawa

TL;DR
This study calculates $ ext{Lambda}N$ invariant mass spectra for specific reactions involving in-flight kaons to investigate isospin symmetry breaking and differences in scattering parameters between $ ext{Lambda}p$ and $ ext{Lambda}n$ systems at low energies.
Contribution
It introduces a method to extract isospin symmetry breaking effects from $ ext{Lambda}N$ spectra using in-flight kaon reactions with partial wave analysis.
Findings
Isospin symmetry breaking can be observed from spectral differences.
Kinematic selection effectively suppresses background processes.
The approach enables study of low-energy $ ext{Lambda}N$ interactions.
Abstract
The invariant mass spectra for the reactions and are calculated for experimental study of isospin symmetry breaking in the scattering at low energies, the difference in the scattering lengths and effective ranges of and systems. The calculations are performed for in-flight kaons with a momentum of 1000 MeV/c with employing partial wave analysis up to the p-wave for meson-baryon amplitudes and the spin-flip term for baryon-baryon amplitudes. Kinematic selection is utilized to suppress the background processes by selecting forward-emitting pions and higher momentum nucleons. It is worth noting that isospin symmetry breaking in the system can be extracted from the difference of the invariant mass spectra between the and…
