Measurement of the production cross section of prompt $\Xi^0_{\rm c}$ baryons in p$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}~=~5.02$ TeV
ALICE Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper measures the production cross section of prompt $\\Xi^0_{c}$ baryons in p$-$Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV, compares it with models and other particles, and provides data to improve understanding of charm hadronisation.
Contribution
First measurement of prompt $\\Xi^0_{c}$ production cross section in p$-$Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV, with comparisons to models and other charm hadrons.
Findings
Measured $p_{T}$-differential cross section of $\\Xi^0_{c}$ baryons.
Found that models based on perturbative QCD underestimate the data by a factor of 50.
Provided the $p_{T}$-integrated cross section extrapolated to $p_{T} = 0$.
Abstract
The transverse momentum () differential production cross section of the promptly produced charm-strange baryon (and its charge conjugate ) is measured at midrapidity via its hadronic decay into in pPb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleonnucleon collision TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The nuclear modification factor (), calculated from the cross sections in pp and pPb collisions, is presented and compared with the of baryons. The ratios between the -differential production cross section of baryons and those of mesons and baryons are also reported and compared with results at forward and backward rapidity from the…
