He-Bin Zheng, Yun-Xian Chen, Jian Tang

TL;DR
This paper explores the thermodynamics and phase transitions of charged AdS black holes with global monopoles within the AdS/CFT framework, revealing unique critical phenomena and phase behaviors influenced by monopole parameters.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed analysis of how global monopoles affect black hole thermodynamics and phase transitions, including the discovery of zero-order phase transitions and the impact on critical phenomena.
Findings
Global monopoles influence free energy and stability regions.
Zero-order phase transitions occur at certain conditions.
No Van der Waals-like $p- ext{V}$ criticality is observed.
Abstract
By regarding the Newton constant and cosmological constant as variables, we in this paper study the thermodynamics and phase transition of Reissner-Nordstrm anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black hole with global monopole in the framework of AdS/CFT correspondence. It is found that there are interesting critical phenomena and phase behaviors in the (grand) canonical ensembles of fixed (), () and (). When the other parameters are fixed, the free energy decreases with the global monopole increases. In () ensemble, the range of unstable region decreases with the increase of global monopole. In () ensemble, when , the free energy appears two branches, the upper and lower branches correspond to low entropy and high entropy respectively.…
