TL;DR
This study measures the branching fractions of $h_c$ decays to $ o ext{gamma} ext{eta}$ and $ o ext{gamma} ext{eta}^ extprime$, with the first observation of $h_c o ext{gamma} ext{eta}$ and an improved limit on $h_c o ext{gamma} ext{pi}^0$, enhancing understanding of $ ext{eta}- ext{eta}^ extprime$ mixing.
Contribution
First observation of $h_c o ext{gamma} ext{eta}$ decay and precise measurement of branching fractions, providing new insights into $ ext{eta}- ext{eta}^ extprime$ mixing within QCD.
Findings
$h_c o ext{gamma} ext{eta}$ observed with 9.0$\sigma$ significance
Branching fraction of $h_c o ext{gamma} ext{eta}$ measured as $(3.77 extpm0.55 extpm0.13 extpm0.26) imes10^{-4}$
Upper limit set on $h_c o ext{gamma} ext{pi}^0$ decay at $5.0 imes10^{-5}$
Abstract
The processes are studied with a sample of events collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decay is observed for the first time with the significance of , and the branching fraction is determined to be , while is measured to be , where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second systematic, and the third from the branching fraction of . The combination of these results allows for a precise determination of , which is calculated to be . The results…
