Jaime Guajardo, Ozgun Bursalioglu, and Dan B Goldman

TL;DR
This paper explores how generative AI can enhance 2D character animation workflows by collaborating with artists to create a short educational cartoon and improve process efficiency.
Contribution
It introduces new AI-assisted workflows for 2D animation, demonstrating improved artist productivity and creative control.
Findings
Streamlined animation process workflows identified.
Successful production of an educational cartoon using AI tools.
Enhanced collaboration between artists and AI systems.
Abstract
In this pilot project, we teamed up with artists to develop new workflows for 2D animation while producing a short educational cartoon. We identified several workflows to streamline the animation process, bringing the artists' vision to the screen more effectively.
