TL;DR
This paper measures the branching fractions and form factors of the semileptonic decay D^0→K^*(892)^-μ^+ν_μ, testing lepton universality and providing the most precise form factor ratios to date.
Contribution
First measurement of the D^0→K^- extmu^+ u_ extmu decay branching fraction and form factors, confirming lepton flavor universality with improved precision.
Findings
Branching fraction of D^0 o K^- extmu^+ u_ extmu is (0.729 b1 0.014 b1 0.011)%
Branching fraction of D^0 o K^*(892)^- extmu^+ u_ extmu is (2.062 b1 0.039 b1 0.032)%
Form factor ratios are r_V=1.37 b1 0.09 b1 0.03 and r_2=0.76 b1 0.06 b1 0.02
Abstract
We report a first study of the semileptonic decay by analyzing an annihilation data sample of collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of is measured for the first time to be . Based on an amplitude analysis, the contribution is determined to be of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated component. The branching fraction of is given to be , which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to…
