Contribution
The paper presents a new fibre sensing control device and control plane that significantly improve response times for optical network sensing applications.
Findings
Achieved sub-microsecond response time in fibre sensing control.
Successfully controlled backscatter and polarization-based sensing in a fibre network.
Demonstrated practical implementation in experimental fibre network.
Abstract
We propose and implement a novel fibre sensing control device and associated sensing control plane that effectively controls backscatter and polarization-based fibre sensing. We experimentally demonstrate in a fibre network that this device and associated control plane can achieve sub-us response time.
