How should a small country respond to climate change?
A. D. J. Haymet

TL;DR
This paper highlights the significant cumulative impact of small countries on global emissions and argues that effective climate response requires addressing emissions from these nations to meet global warming targets.
Contribution
It emphasizes the importance of including small countries in climate strategies, a perspective often overlooked in global efforts.
Findings
Small countries contribute about one-third of total emissions.
Reducing emissions from small countries is crucial for limiting global warming.
Global efforts must incorporate small nation strategies to succeed.
Abstract
Responses to the global climate crisis often focus on the largest current emitters of greenhouse gases. However, analysis shows that about a third of emissions come from a collection of small emitters, each contributing one- to two-percent of the total additional CO injected into the communal atmosphere. Attempts to hold global warming to less than 1.5\textcelsius~ cannot succeed without also reducing emissions from these small countries.
