Haizheng Li, Laurent Schmalen

TL;DR
This paper explores a spatially coupled LDPC coding scheme tailored for space division multiplexing, emphasizing scalable decoding strategies and analyzing their impact on complexity, performance, and information flow.
Contribution
It introduces a novel spatially coupled LDPC coding scheme with sub-block locality specifically designed for space division multiplexing, and evaluates different decoding strategies.
Findings
Decoding strategies significantly affect performance and complexity.
Sub-block locality enhances scalability and information exchange.
The proposed scheme improves decoding efficiency in space division multiplexing.
Abstract
In this paper, we study the application of spatially coupled LDPC codes with sub-block locality for space division multiplexing. We focus on the information exchange between the sub-blocks and compare decoding strategies with respect to the complexity, performance and the information flow.
