TL;DR
This paper analyzes soft-photon theorems in pion scattering, deriving amplitude expansions at leading and next-to-leading orders, and clarifies differences between Low's and Weinberg's formulations, with implications for photon emission processes.
Contribution
It provides a detailed comparison of soft-photon theorems in pion scattering, deriving amplitude expansions and clarifying differences between Low's and Weinberg's approaches.
Findings
Derived amplitude expansions to orders ω^{-1} and ω^{0}
Showed the complete expression of terms in on-shell amplitudes and derivatives
Clarified the differences between Low's and Weinberg's soft-photon theorems
Abstract
We investigate the photon emission in pion-pion and pion-proton scattering in the soft-photon limit where the photon energy . The expansions of the and the amplitudes, satisfying the energy-momentum relations, to the orders and are derived. We show that these terms can be expressed completely in terms of the on-shell amplitudes for and , respectively, and their partial derivatives with respect to and . The~structure term which is non singular for is determined to the order from the gauge-invariance constraint using the generalized Ward identities for pions and the proton. For the reaction we discuss in detail the…
