Andrea Baronchelli

TL;DR
This paper explores how new social norms for AI can be established amidst rapid AI evolution, analyzing different formation scenarios and emphasizing the importance of transparent, inclusive public discourse.
Contribution
It provides a framework for understanding the processes of norm formation around AI, including centralised, decentralised, and spontaneous emergence scenarios.
Findings
Norm formation processes vary based on centralisation or decentralisation.
Spontaneous norms can emerge through bottom-up processes.
Open, inclusive discourse is crucial for establishing effective AI norms.
