An Liu, Zhi-Long Han, Yi Jin, Honglei Li

TL;DR
This paper explores a $Z_3$ symmetric extension of sterile neutrino portal dark matter, introducing new semi-annihilation processes that differentiate it from $Z_2$ models, and analyzes its phenomenological viability.
Contribution
It introduces a novel $Z_3$ symmetric model with new interactions and semi-annihilation channels, expanding the phenomenological landscape of sterile neutrino dark matter.
Findings
Semi-annihilation channels significantly affect dark matter relic density.
Viable parameter space consistent with experimental constraints identified.
Distinct phenomenological signatures differentiate $Z_3$ from $Z_2$ models.
Abstract
In this paper, we consider the sterile neutrino portal dark matter with symmetry. This model further extends the canonical type-I seesaw with a fermion singlet and a scalar singlet . Under the symmetry, the dark sector transforms as , while the standard model particles and the sterile neutrino transform trivially. Besides the interactions as and allowed in the symmetry, the symmetry also introduces two new terms, i.e., and . These new interactions induce additional semi-annihilation processes as and for WIMP dark matter. We then perform a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenology of this symmetric model. Viable parameter space is…
