TL;DR
This paper demonstrates the simultaneous transmission of high-power classical data channels and a quantum key distribution channel over 50 km of standard single mode fiber, introducing a new metric for co-propagation efficiency.
Contribution
It presents the first experimental demonstration of co-propagating 6 Tb/s classical channels with a QKD channel over 50 km of fiber, along with a novel metric for evaluating co-propagation efficiency.
Findings
Successful co-propagation over 50 km of SSMF
Introduction of a new metric for co-propagation efficiency
Maintained quantum channel integrity with high-power classical channels
Abstract
We report the co-propagation, over 50 km of SSMF, of the quantum channel (1310 nm) of a QKD system with ~17 dBm total power of DWDM data channels (1550 nm range). A metric to evaluate Co-propagation Efficiency is proposed.
