## TL;DR

This paper reviews the current theoretical understanding of heavy hadron lifetimes containing bottom or charm quarks using the Heavy Quark Expansion framework, discussing predictions and potential improvements to reduce uncertainties.

## Contribution

It provides an updated overview of HQE-based lifetime predictions for heavy hadrons and suggests avenues for reducing theoretical uncertainties.

## Key findings

- Current HQE predictions for heavy hadron lifetimes
- Identification of sources of theoretical uncertainties
- Proposals for potential improvements in predictions

## Abstract

We present the theoretical status of the lifetimes of weakly decaying heavy hadrons containing a bottom or a charm quark, and discuss the current predictions, based on the framework of the Heavy Quark Expansion (HQE), for both mesons and baryons. Potential improvements to reduce the theoretical uncertainties are also highlighted.
